Governor O'Malley Kicks Off Renewable Energy Project in Baltimore

Governor O'Malley joined Congressman C.A. "Dutch" Ruppersberger, and other federal and state officials on Monday to officially kick off the Fairfield Renewable Energy Project in Curtis Bay. Energy Answers International has received all key permits for its private development of the Fairfield Renewable Energy Project.

The Project offers many benefits to the existing industrial site, including 300-400 peak construction jobs over a 3 year period and 180 permanent jobs when the Power Plant is complete in December 2013. The plant will generate renewable, sustainable and environmentally sound energy.

Energy Answers International is developing the Fairfield Renewable Energy Power Plant on the industrial-zoned, former FMC site located on the Fairfield Peninsula in Baltimore. The 140 MW combined heat and power plant is designed to provide wholesale energy to help meet regional demands, as well as reduced price retail energy as an attraction for energy intensive industries to co-locate at an Eco-Industrial Park to be developed on the 90-acre brownfield site
