  • August 12, 2008: Attended PATH Allegheny Open House in Frederick, MD
  • August 21, 2008: Interested persons scheduled a meeting to explore setting up a group to get information and possibly oppose the PATH project
  • September 26, 2008: Sugarloaf Conservancy was incorporated
  • October 21, 2008:  Town Hall Informational Meeting –Challenge to Allegheny on HVDC underground technology given publicly, mailed and e-mailed to Chairman of Allegheny Energy 
  • November 19, 2008 Met with Allegheny Energy and gave notebook after Jan Gardner (President of BOCC)’s letter to Allegheny Energy
  • December 4, 2008: Attended PATH Allegheny’s Open House
  • December filing delayed
  • December, 2008: Met with aides to Senators Mikulski and Cardin
  • December, 2008: Met with aide of Congressman Bartlett
  • December, 2008: Members met individually with County Commissioners
  • Working with many groups: MAGIC Alliance, MAPP, Sierra Club, VA, WVA
  • December 6, 2008:  Presentation and other testimony to State Delegates
  • December 18, 2008: Letter from Delegate Alex Mooney sent to PSC on our behalf 
  • December 19, 2008:  FNP Editorial supporting our position for study of HVDC
  • January 7, 2009:  BOCC letter to Allegheny requesting study of HVDC
  • January 15, 2009: PATH Allegheny responded to Sugarloaf Conservancy’s notebook
  • January 16, 2009: Meeting with Congressman Roscoe Bartlett’s aide
  • January 18, 2009: Sugarloaf Conservancy issued rebuttal to PATH Allegheny’s response
  • January 25, 2009: Wrote to Stephen Chu regarding his positive comments on HVDC technology
  • January 30, 2009:  State Delegates letter to Allegheny requesting study of HVDC
  • January 30, 2009: Wrote to MD Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler
  • February 16, 2009: State Delegates wrote to PJM requesting study of HVDC
  • February 17, 2009: Meeting with aides to Senators Cardin & Mikulski
  • February 21, 2009: Wrote to John Schnagl – Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Permitting, Siting, and Analysis – DOE, invited to and attended Energy Conference DC
  • March 2, 2009: Wrote Governor O’Malley
  • April 2, 2009: Frederick County BOCC wrote to PJM requesting study of HVDC
  • PSC filing delayed again
  • May 13, 2009: Wrote Steny Hoyer regarding HVDC for transmission lines
  • May 14, 2009: PJM wrote Jan Gardner that they would do HVDC Study
  • May 28, 2009: Letter to PSC asking they deny application based on 10 Governors’ letter 
  • May 31, 2009: Wrote to Governor O’Malley regarding 10 Governors’ Letter, etc.
  • May 30, 2009: Mailed 56 letters to property owners directly affected by line and three members are calling and speaking to those people personally.
  • June 3, 2009: SC spoke at PSC again asking them to consider the 10 Governors’ letter and the fact that AE had not informed the public as they should have.
  • June 22, 2009: Met with Jan Gardner and Dave Gray (BOCC) to update them on issues including the substation
  • June 29, 2009: Go Green Conference at Fairgrounds
  • July 2, 2009: Retained the law firm of Miller, Miller & Canby to represent Sugarloaf Conservancy and CAKES in front of the PSC
  • July 9, 2009: Met with Mayor of Frederick re his letter of support of AE to PSC
  • July 27, 2009: Met with Congressman Roscoe Bartlett and aides
  • July 31, 2009: Bus Trip with attorneys, Ed Waters from FNP and about 50 members to PSC Hearing on First Order questions
  • September 2, 2009: Met with Commissioner Lennie Thompson
  • September 11, 2009: Met with Commissioner Charles Jenkins
  • October 1, 2009: Met with Commissioner Kai Hagen
  • November 2, 2009: Friends of Frederick Meeting with guests, Russell Frisby, Jr. of PATH Education and Awareness Team and Jan Gardner. Over 50 Sugarloaf Conservancy & CAKES members attended.
  • November 4, 2009: SC & CAKES attended Brunswick Chamber of Commerce meeting where Frisby debated the Baldwins from Lovettesville.
  • November 16, 2009: Met with Sugarloaf Citizens Association
  • November 19, 2009: Lovettsville SCC Public Hearing SC and CAKES spoke
  • December 1, 2009: Sierra Club Rally in Baltimore – CAKES spoke
  • December 4, 2009: Frederick Delegation’s Annual Forum – SC & CAKES spoke
  • December 17, 2009: Southern Frederick County Rotary Club
  • December 21, 2009: SC & CAKES were guests on the Blaine Young Show
  • January 6, 2010: PSC Meeting – SC sponsored bus to meeting and spoke along with CAKES
  • January 20, 2010: SC, CAKES, & Sierra Club presented at Urbana Civic Association Meeting
  • February 3, 2010: SC & CAKES spoke in to Brunswick Chamber of Commerce
  • February 12, 2010: Sugarloaf Conservancy spoke to the Frederick Delegation
  • March 2, 2010: SC & CAKES attended PSC hearing on related energy matter
  • March 2, 2010: SC met with Jan Gardner
  • March 4, 2010: SC attended CAKES meeting
